Who We Support: Wild is Life zimbabwe

In 2015, Wild is Life USA was established as an extension of Wild is Life Zimbabwe, with a singular goal: to secure the crucial funding required to sustain the organization’s vital mission. While we’ve made significant strides, our journey stands at a pivotal juncture, demanding increased resources to persist in our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rewilding Zimbabwe’s elephants. Your support can help us maintain this crucial work and ensure the future of these majestic creatures. Join us in safeguarding Zimbabwe’s elephants – together, we can make a lasting impact.

How your Donations help

$3,600 for one Month of milk

The orphaned baby elephants require large volumes of nutrient-rich, 50l specially blended milk formula, which costs $120 per day per baby. A generous donation of $3,600 per month will cover one orphan for an entire month.

$8,000 per elephant rescue

We are the go-to organization for elephant rescues for the entire nation — so when the call comes we must respond. A generous donation of $8,000 enables us to do this mission critical rescue work, which we perform multiple times throughout the year.

$2,400 monthly for elephant rehabilitation

It costs $700 per week for the medical care, food, animal handlers and upkeep per elephant during the rehabilitation phase, which can go on for many months following a rescue. We absolutely need your support to continue to do this highly specialized work.

$1,000 to plant 100 trees

Wild is Life Zimbabwe has 3 major forests in its care and a continual reforestation programme. Each tree planted costs $10, meaning with $10,000 we can plant a large tract and continue restoring important habitats within our care.

$2,600 for Ranger Patrols

A generous annual donation of $31,200 would cover a full year’s worth of operations for anti-poaching patrols across the territories we manage!

wishlist

$35,000 Tractor and Implements

A 4x4 tractor for road maintenance and fire management.

$80,000 BulldozeR

A JCB bulldozer is needed for road maintenance, trenching and other utility work in the forests.

$14,000 Patrol Boat

This would allowed patrols on Zambezi river to protect against armed ivory poachers.

$62,000 Land Cruiser

A 4x4 Patrol vehicle for ranger deployments and patrols in Panda Masuie.

A 501(c) organization is a nonprofit entity that is recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as tax-exempt. This means that the organization is exempt from paying federal income tax on its earnings. These organizations are often established for charitable, religious, educational, scientific, or other specific purposes that benefit the community or the public.

You can verify an organization’s 501(c) status by checking the IRS database or asking the organization directly. Legitimate 501(c) organizations are required to provide their tax-exempt status information upon request.

When you make a donation to a qualified 501(c) organization, you may be eligible to claim a tax deduction for your contribution. These deductions can reduce your taxable income, potentially lowering the amount of income tax you owe to the IRS.

No, not all donations are tax-deductible. To claim a tax deduction, your donation must meet certain criteria. It must be made to a qualified 501(c) organization, and you must itemize your deductions when filing your federal income tax return

The amount you can deduct depends on the specific tax laws and regulations in effect for the tax year in question. Typically, you can deduct the full value of your cash donations, up to a certain percentage of your adjusted gross income. Non-cash donations, such as property or stocks, have their own set of rules for determining their deductible value.
