Restoring Corridors

At a level virtually unmatched anywhere in the world, we are restoring ancient and vital wildlife corridors where iconic species are uniquely represented.  Panda Masuie, Fuller and Kavira Forests are part of a much larger conservation area called the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA), home to half the world’s elephants. These reserves form a vital corridor connecting national parks maintaining crucial ecological connectivity, which is increasingly threatened. Without these areas protected, other large habitats would be isolated and become more vulnerable. By securing these forests, they act as large corridors that maintain and protect ancient migration routes for elephants and other species. A game count in this area in 2017 counted 364 elephants. In 2023 this had increased to 501 elephants!
